Audrey Jenkins Rose

Audrey Elizabeth Jenkins Rose of Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg passed away on April 3, 2017. She was born May 13, 1927 in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of the late Eastham Jenkins and Icie (Shirkey) Jenkins. Audrey lived the majority of her life in Harrisonburg and graduated from Harrisonburg High School. She retired from the U. S. Forest Service after 27 years of service. She was a member of Harrisonburg Baptist Church and the Coed X Fidelis Fellowship Sunday School Class and the XYZ Singers. She was a member of the Virginia Laureate Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and also the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. For some years she was a member of the Keezletown Family and Community Education Club. Audrey is survived by her daughter Cathy Franklin Hall and her husband Dave, of Freeport, FL, her two sons, Jeffrey L. Franklin of Mechanicsville, VA and John A. Franklin of Destin, FL, her nephew Kip Jenkins and his family of Harrisonburg, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the Meredith Chapel at Sunnyside on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Harrisonburg Baptist Church, 501 S.
