Obituary of Bobby Ray Lambert
Bobby “Bob” Ray Lambert, 77, passed away on May 2, 2018. He was born on October 6, 1940 in Iaeger, WV, in McDowell County, and was the son of the late Oble Ray and Hallie Tennessee Rose Lambert. Bob was proud to serve his country with 4.5 years in the Air Force Strategic Air Command as crew chief on a KC-97 tanker. After working 28 years with Alloy Metal Products in Alexandria, VA he started Lambert Metal Services in Springfield, VA. LMS is a stainless steel custom kitchen equipment fabricator. Upon Bob’s retirement, he turned the business over to his son. Bob was a member of George Washington Masonic Lodge in Alexandria, VA, Gulleysville Hunt Club in Nellysford, VA, and Harrisonburg Baptist Church. On April 27, 1963 he married the former, Linda Rae Geddings, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Carla Marie Dhom and husband, Paul of Winchester; a son, Darrell Lambert and wife, Teri, of Nokesville, VA; two grandsons, Michael Dhom of Winchester and Hunter Lambert of Nokesville; two granddaughters, Hallie Dhom of Winchester, and Katherine Lambert of Nokesville; a brother, Charlie R. Lambert and wife, Sharon, of Iaeger, WV; five sisters, Faye Cook Bailey of Mooresville, NC, Judy Embrey and husband, Donald, of Penn Laird, VA, Sharon Tanner of Charlotte, NC, Mona Darlene Williams and husband, Kenneth “Gerry”, of Welch, WV, and Diana Sue Lyons and husband, Denny, of Springfield, VA; a special longtime Air Force friend, Don Bradly. Bob enjoyed camping golfing, hunting, tinkering in his basement, and spending time with family including his 13 nieces and nephews. He was the oldest of three brothers and five sisters; in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Estil Lambert and Ronnie Jay Lambert. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Dr. Mark White officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
