

She was born in Wytheville, VA and was the daughter of the late Richard and Frances Thomas.
She spent most of her early years in Roanoke, VA and later married Joseph Kemper Funkhouser of Harrisonburg who preceded her in death.
Cleadiece was an active member of the Harrisonburg community. She directed the Junior Choir and was also a member of the Chancel Choir at Asbury Methodist Church. She was also a member of Circle Seven of the Methodist Church. Cleadiece was an artist, pianist, writer and loved to play golf in her younger years. She was a member of the local artist guild in the early 1950’s and 60’s. Prior to her retirement, she was a bridal consultant and conducted many weddings in the Shenandoah Valley.
She is survived by two sons, Ron Funkhouser and wife Sandra of Spring Hill, FL and Joseph K. Funkhouser II and wife Sallie of Harrisonburg; six grandchildren, Rolland Funkhouser of Tampa, FL, Scott Funkhouser and wife, Melody of Spring Hill, FL, Renee Seal of Charlottesville, Kimberley Rusnak of Charlottesville, Elizabeth Kistler and husband, David of Harrisonburg, Kemper Funkhouser and wife, Ashleigh of Harrisonburg; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers. She leaves behind her devoted caregiver and friend for many years Darlene Kauffman.
A service will be held at 11:00am, April 9th in Harrisonburg at the Woodbine Cemetery Mausoleum with Dr. John F. Sloop officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to RMH Hospice or RMH Foundation.
