Later in life he was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg. Don’s career was in banking where he was a Vice President and loan officer serving the needs of the community for over 32 years. He retired from Nations Bank, (now Bank of America) in 1991. During his retirement years he liked to read, garden, watch sports (his favorites were the Redskins and the Atlanta Braves) and spend time with his family. He enjoyed doing work for his church and was a member of the West Rockingham Ruritan Club. Don was a dedicated family man with a great sense of humor up until the end.
