E. Lorraine "Rainy" Propst

She was born July 22, 1935 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Sheldon Dove and Emma Conley.

On January 14, 1955, she was united in marriage to Lester R. Propst, who preceded her in death on October 8, 2012.

She was a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. For many years, Rainy cared for numerous children in her home and adored each of them. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning.

She is survived by four children, David R. Propst of Frederick, MD, Rev. Steven L. Propst and wife, April, of Lynchburg, VA, Cindy P. Landes and husband, Ronald, of Harrisonburg, and Tina L. Propst and partner, Amy Cubbage, of Broadway; four grandchildren, Megan and Tyler Landes, Katie Propst-Minso and husband, Joshua, and Joshua Propst; one sister Phyllis Haggerty of Reading, PA, one nephew, Kevin Haggerty, and great-grandchildren, Leilana and Nathaniel Minso.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen E. Propst; and a brother, Donald Conley.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Dr. Gary Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow at Herwin Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the funeral home.
