Eunice Gail Blizzard

She was born in Whitmore, WV on June 7, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Virginia Mullenax Smith.

Eunice graduated from Harman High School in West Virginia on May 28, 1956. The same day, she married Richard Blizzard, who survives. Eunice and her husband were crowned King and Queen of their graduating class.

Before becoming the accountant and secretary for Blizzard Trucking, Eunice retired from Brockway. She had a passion to crochet, loved her tea gatherings at the Hardesty Higgens House, and always enjoyed a good card game.

She attended Garber’s Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg, VA and was a member of Harman Church of the Brethren in Harman, WV.

The true love of her life was her family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Ricky David Blizzard and wife Mary Ann of Harrisonburg, VA; four grandchildren, Shandi Dawn Blizzard of Grottoes, VA, Timothy Jacob Blizzard and wife Stephanie of Harman, WV, Tracy Suters and husband Joey of Broadway, VA, Chad Rhodes and wife Leilani of Linville, VA; eight great-grandchildren, Sierra and Gage Kelley, Katelynn Viands and husband Jarred, Bryce, Taylor and Jayce Suters, and Caiden and Cam Rhodes; a sister, Reeta Clous and husband Ronald, of Finleyville, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her son Ronnie Dale Blizzard, preceded her in death in 1990. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Priscilla Cooper; and a brother, Shelton Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Garber’s Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg, with Pastor Walt Crull officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Harman Church of the Brethren in Harman, WV.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a graveside burial at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Blizzard family cemetery, 432 Blizzard Hollow, Harman, WV 26270.
