John Anthony Smouse

A son of Marie Smouse Marston and the late John Reed Smouse, he was born on Jan. 16, 1971 in Harrisonburg.

John lived his entire life in the Harrisonburg area.

He is survived by his mother, Marie “Snookie” Marston and step-father, Alton Marston of Grottoes; one brother, Chris A. Smouse and fiancé, Lindsay Croy of Charlotte, NC and grandfather, Donnie Hensley of Harrisonburg. He was preceded in death by his father, John R. Smouse in June, 2011, his grandmother, Berniece Hensley, his maternal great-grandparents, Leo and Pauline Biller and paternal great-grandparents, Harold and Julia Smouse.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 Monday evening, March 11, 2013, at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home. The casket will not be opened.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013, from the Chapel of the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Gullman. officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant View Homes, Harrisonburg Fire Dept. or Grottoes Fire Dept.
