

She was born in Harrisonburg on September 24, 1957 and was the daughter of Lorraine “Rainy” Conley Propst of Harrisonburg, and the late Lester Roy Propst.
Karen lived her entire life in this area and attended Linville-Edom schools and Massanutten Vo-Tech for several years. She had been employed at Friendship Industries for over five years. She participated in the Special Olympics and was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.
Karen loved listening to Christian music and had many hobbies including memorizing birthdays and phone numbers. She loved Bobby Sherman, Frankie Avalon, Billy Graham, Randy Travis, Bill Elliott, The California Raisins, and Michael Jackson.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Cindy P. Landes and husband, Ronald, of Harrisonburg; Tina L. Propst and companion, Amy Cubbage of Broadway; two brothers, David R. Propst and wife, Michelle, of Martinsburg, WV; Rev. Steven L. Propst and wife, April, of Goode, VA; two nieces, Megan Landes and Katie Propst; two nephews, Tyler Landes and Josh Propst.
She was preceded in death by her boyfriend of many years, Carroll May.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 14, at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Herwin Chapel Cemetery.
