Lawrence Arthur Gett, Sr.

A son of the late George and Dorothy Leveille Gett, he was born on October 2, 1940 in Middletown, Connecticut.

Lawrence made his home in Connecticut where he worked for Dunham-Bush and moved to Harrisonburg in 1982 and continued working for them for a total of 44 years before retiring. He was known to his entire family as “PA”.

On August 10, 1963 he married Laura I. D’Amato Gett who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Lisa M. Gett Frantz and husband David, of Fortson, GA; one son, Larry A. Gett, Jr. of Broadway; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald Gett of Euless, TX; and a sister, Cheryl Blanchard of Gainesville, FL.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael E. Gett, Sr., in 1989.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Thursday evening at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
