Lois Marie Dean

Lois Marie Dean, 59, of Tenth Legion, passed April 14, 2017 in loving care with her daughter in Shenandoah. She had been in failing health the past several months. A daughter of the late Mencil Roach and Virginia & Curtis Dean, she was born on September 30, 1957 in Rockingham County where she lived her entire life. She worked at Walker Manufacturing for 23 years, and was a former member of the Grottoes Rescue Squad where she volunteered as an EMT-Basic. She loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren very much. Surviving is her companion of 17 years, Jeff Sherman of Tenth Legion, three daughters, Stacey Shifflett of Shenandoah, Vanessa and Sabrina Sherman of Broadway; five grandchildren, Kaleigh and Braylen Shifflett, and Emma, Raleigh and Nora Sherman; four sisters, Sheila, April, Anita and Jeanette, three brothers, Randy, Jerry and Jimmy; and brother-in-law, Bart. In addition to her mother, father and step-father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Shifflett and brother, Curtis N. Dean. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Rev. Carter Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
