Mary Louise Tate

A daughter of the late Henry and Mary Chriswel Tate, she was born on Sept. 3, 1925 in Harrisonburg where she lived her entire life. Miss Tate was a graduate for James Madison University and the University of Virginia and taught school at Elkton Elementary School. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Rion-Bowman VFW Post.

There were seven boys and five girls in her immediate family. She is survived by one brother, Warren Tate and one sister, Erma Hollar both of Harrisonburg and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 Wednesday evening at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Thursday morning at Otterbein United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Grogan, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church Cemetery.
