Neomi Frances (Payne) Landes

She was born on December 9, 1938, in Harrisonburg VA, daughter to the late Roy Kephart and Mabel Payne. She was preceded in death by two of her sons, Tony Landes and Matthew Landes.

She married Austin Leon Landes, who is surviving, on January 9, 1955, blessing them with 71 years of marriage.

Neomi was a homemaker. She collected cookbooks, enjoyed making flower arrangements, watching the squirrels and birds in the backyard, and she made sure her cat, along with all the strays, were fed.

Also surviving are two sons, Rickey Landes (Karen) of Martinsburg, WV and Mark Landes (Christine) of Winchester, VA; daughter-in-law, Jerraldine Landes of Gerrardstown, WV; brother, Harold Kephart (Gladys) of Elton, WV; four grandchildren, Susan Mason (Larry), Sarah Day (Shannon), Ashley Landes, and Holly Landes; three great-grandchildren, Kiara Oester (Adam), Jordan Goeins, and Eian Mason; multiple great-great-grandchildren; and a cousin Leslie Payne (Bobbi).

Arrangements are handled by Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, VA. Family and friends are welcome to attend the celebration of life at the Town Hall of Grottoes, VA on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 1:00 P.M.
