Barbara Joyce Large

Barbara J. Large went to her heavenly home on September 27, 2014. Born April 1, 1936 in Harrogate, TN, she accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age and loved to attend church and worship with her fellow believers. A faithful member of Pump Springs Baptist Church for many years and more recently, East Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir until her health no longer allowed. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ola Lee and Campbell H. Standifer. Barbara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: T. Lynn and Vicki Large of Knoxville, TN; grandson and wife, Christopher and Belle Large and granddaughter, Lauren Large all of Knoxville, TN; two great granddaughters, Savannah and Elyssa Large also of Knoxville, TN. She leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Marlene Standifer; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Jim Brooks, all of whom were such a help and comfort during her illness and many nieces and nephews. The family wants to thank the caregivers who allowed Barbara to spend her last days in the home she loved so much. Our gratitude and thanks to Juanita, Robin, Sarah, Libby, Jackie and Shirley for the care and love you gave. Thank you to the staff of Amedysis Home Health and Hospice for all you have done for my mother these past two years. All pain and suffering are gone as Mom is now in the arms of her Saviour and Lord. The family will receive friends from 5-8PM Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate with funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with Dr. Larry Fields officiating. Music by the East Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church Choir. Graveside service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the England Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Brooks, Jimmy Brooks, Jr., Christopher Large, Harold Standifer, Terry Redmond and Bobby Gilbert.
