James Alexander

James Patrick Alexander, born September 13th, 1943, passed away at the age of 73 on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at his home.

He was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY. He formerly worked as a deputy for the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department from 1971-1988 and worked 47 years for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and his two beloved pets, Mr. Peaches and Blessin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert and Leatrice Alexander and his brother, Jeffery Dale Alexander.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Alice Faye Alexander. Son, Brian Alexander and wife Denise of Speedwell, TN. Grandchildren, Whitney Estep and husband J.D. of Speedwell, TN; Holly Mason and husband Scott of Nashville, TN. Great grandchildren, Izabelva Estep, Zayvalee Estep, and J. Dallard Estep. Siblings, Jerry Alexander and wife Priscilla of Franklin, OH, Debbie Williams of Knoxville, TN, Diane Braden of Speedwell, TN, Jack Alexander of Speedwell, TN, Joe Alexander of Speedwell, TN, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. with funeral services to follow on Saturday, April 22nd at Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY. Rev. J.D. Estep IV and Dr. William Boyd Bingham III presiding. Music by Binghamtown Baptist Church choir and Bea Robbins.

Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23rd at the Alexander Family Cemetery in Speedwell, TN.

Pallbearers will be Rick Smith, Greg Williams, Shane Williams, Dustin Alexander, Scott Mason, and Shayne Evans. Honorary pallbearers include Larry Tom Davis, Lee Wylie, Kenny Treece, Gerald Wilder, Danny Gibson, and the men of Binghamtown Baptist Church.
