Mr. Robert Dale Thompson, age 92, of Harrogate, Tennessee was born February 4, 1930 and passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Robert owned and operated coal mines in Southeastern, KY. He was a very hard working man and loved working in the coal mines and mowing his grass, which he did well into his nineties. He was a quiet and private man that loved his family and friends and being at home. He was the neighborhood go to for anything in need. He enjoyed helping others as long as he could and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Robert was very proud of his grandson and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lee Willis Thompson; father and mother, James C. and Thelma Streeter Thompson. He will be missed by all who knew him!
He is survived by his daughter: Vicki (Steve) Russell of Clinton, TN;
Grandson: Jeff (Randi) Russell of Knoxville, TN;
Great Grandchildren: Cade and Cole Russell;
Sisters: Deloris and Doris Woodsmall;
Brother: Franklin Thompson; Special Neighbors: Shirley and Jeff Lindsey.
and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday November 16, 2022 at the Harrogate Cemetery.
