A Celebration of Life service will be held for Mr. Albert L. Rachal on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM

at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 5:00 -7:00 PM. Dr. Randy Harper, Pastor of Bellaire Baptist Church and Rev. Robert Goetjen, Pastor of Faith Temple will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park with full military honors.

Mr. Rachal, 94, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 22, 2010 (his great-granddaughter, “Maddie’s” birthday) at Willis Knighton Pierremont after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Rapides Parish where he served and lived in Bossier City for 40 years. He was a 30 year veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as an aircraft maintenance crew chief. Mr. Rachal served in WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars, and received many medals.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, of 56 years, daughters, Carmen Recchia and Helen Johnson, both of Bossier City, son, Charles Rachal of Bossier City, three granddaughters, Courtney Johnson, Amanda Oswalt and Crystal Johnson, and two great granddaughters, “Maddie” Grace Oswalt and Joely Dominque.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Oswalt, Sammy Jackson, David Rogers, Wesley Roach, Elwyn Martin, and Francis Phillips.
