Anna Belle Gibbs

Anna "Belle" Gibbs was born in Quitman, Texas on February 23, 1921 and passed peacefully into eternity on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 2:52 p.m. at Southern Oaks Rehabilitation and Nursing Home after a long, fulfilled life at the age of 99 years, 5 months, 2 weeks and 6 days. "Miz Belle" was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Robert "R.B." Gibbs; her eldest son, David "Davy" L. Gibbs; her sister, Faye Morris; her stepdad, Jay D. Burke; and her mother, Opal H. Burke. She is survived by her son, Richard "Dickie" Gibbs and wife Linda E. Gibbs; daughter-in-law, Joyce Gibbs; and son, Dan P. Gibbs; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside service for immediate family and close family friends will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery in Haughton, Louisiana. A Life Celebration honoring Belle will be observed on the 100th anniversary of her birth on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in the sanctuary of her beloved Trinity Heights Baptist Church.
