Carlene Dawson

Carlene Lee Harrell Bennett Dawson, age 69, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away on April 10, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Carlene was born on October 1, 1955, in Greensboro, North Carolina to Marvin E Bennett Sr. and Mourine Harrell Bennett.

Carlene proudly served as an Inspector at Boeing until her retirement, dedicating herself to her work with integrity and care. A devout Christian, she was a faithful member of Barksdale Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. Carlene was an avid reader who found peace and joy in painting and needlecraft. As a member of the Scouts, she cherished the outdoors, and she enjoyed celebrating Mardi Gras as a member of the Krewe of Centaur. Her creativity, faith, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Carlene is survived by her son, Kenneth Dawson II; brother, Marvin Bennett Jr., wife Nancy; sisters, Carol Smith and Linda Meservey; nieces, Catherine Snow, Tiffany Smith, Katie Meservey, Samantha Meservey, and Jennifer Carusone; nephews, Travis Smith, and Robert Dawson II; great niece, Brooke Carusone; great nephews, Colt Meservey, Robert Dawson III and Andrew Carusone; aunt, Carolyn Mayton; brother-in-law, Robert Dawson, and sister-in-law, Joy Dawson.

She was preceded by her father, Marvin Bennett Sr.; mother, Mourine Bennett; husband, Kenneth Dawson; brother-in-law, Thomas Smith, and niece, Tracy Smith.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dawson II, Marvin Bennett Jr., Travis Smith, Anthony Graves, Jonathan Rider, and Lawerence LeDuff.

A visitation for Carlene will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. A celebration of life will occur Friday, April 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037, with Rev. Calvin Hubbard officiating.
