Rick was a longtime resident of Bossier Parish. He loved the LSU Tigers and outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Bossier Parks and Recreation. In his retirement years, he followed his passions of woodworking and restoring antique machinery. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, twice Past Master of Temple Lodge #448 of Bossier City, a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court #26 and a member of El Karubah Shrine Temple.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lee Kelly and brother, Matthew Lee Kelly.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ethel McRee Kelly of Houston, TX; daughter, Dr. Brandi Kelly Primeaux and husband Dr. Thad Primeaux of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Rachel Renae Kelly of Bossier City, LA; sister, Linda Kelly Harkey and husband Dana of Houston, TX; brothers, Paul Lamar Kelly and wife Nancy of Bossier City, LA, and Mark Berry Kelly and wife Memrie of Tomball, TX; five grandchildren, Carter, Mitchell, Delanie, Mackenzie and Cameron; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Outdoor services to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the Mausoleum Chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Park with Reverend Beth Sentell officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the park.
Pallbearers will be Paul Kelly, Mark Kelly, Dr. Thad Primeaux, Jimmy Hall, Doug Payne and Mac Plummer.
The family would like to thank Dr. Melanie Smith and Dr. David Green for their kindness and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to The Shriners Hospital for Children.
