

Celebration of life service for Daniel Treat Williams Sr. will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 601 Highway 80, Haughton , LA 71037 on Monday, September 8,2014 at 2:00 pm. Gevan Spinney, minister at First Baptist Haughton, will be officiating the service. Interment will be at Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Sunday from 5- 7 pm.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Haughton ,LA.,the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Sheriffs Association, State Police Association, and Fire Fighter of the Year 1992. He was a volunteer for many years with South Bossier Fire Department, a First Responder, Driver Trainer and Ambulance Driver. He worked with the Bossier Parish Posse members and later as a Sheriff Deputy with Bossier Parish Sheriffs Office. He was a retired Teamster's truck driver of 24 years with over a million miles without an accident and a member of the Truck Driver's Hall of Fame. He was also presented with many civic organizations and community awards during his time. He gave of himself dutifully to God, family, friends, and the community. A proud patriot, he served his country with honor in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barney McCoy Williams, and mother Lorisia Brown Williams; two brothers, John Williams and Joseph Williams; one sister, Margie Williams Hill. He is survived by his wife and partner in life of 37 years, Sybil (Christine) Ebarb Williams; three daughters, Lorisia Christine Williams Miller; son in law, Jerry Miller of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Dana Gayle Williams Willoughby and son in law, Terry Willoughby of Silverdale, Kansas, Rebecca Ann Williams of Ark City, Kansas; one son, Daniel Treat Williams, Jr. and daughter in law, Katherine Linn Williams of Haughton, LA.; one brother, Donald Williams and wife, Susie of Texarkana, Texas; one sister in law, |eannie Williams of Mexia, TX; one brother in law, Hilton Ebarb, Jr. and wife, Nanette of Zwolle, LA.; two sisters in law, Hilda Frazier, of Haughton, LA. and Millie Bumgarner of Bossier City, LA.; grandchildren, Christopher Pappan, Bradley Miller, Kylie Hall Vest, Karlie Balzer, Trisha Robinson, Larissa Corine Williams, Layla Michelle Williams; nine great grandchildren, with a special love for his nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a special thanks of gratitude to Mike, his hospice nurse with Regional Hospice Care, for his steadfast emotional and moral support and impeccable care given to not only our loved one but to our family which meant so much during this most critical time. Also Synergy Home Health nurses, Robin, and Nancy who gave above and beyond their professional care with much love and support, making our time of difficulty so much easier. Their exceptional kindness will always be remembered.
