Services for David L. Hicks, 68, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2020, at the Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Mausoleum. David will be laid to rest at the NW LA Veteran's Cemetery in Keithville, LA.
David was 69 years young. He was the oldest of five children born to Jack and Edna Hicks. Whom has preceded him in death.
David went to Airline High School. He then joined the Army and was selected to be in an elite group, THE SPECIAL FORCES, where jumping out of planes became a passion for him. Unfortunately, due to a back injury he was no longer able to jump. He also had a passion for and loved animals, rescuing many.
David loved and accepted the Lord, but he had to work at fighting the demons over the years.
David had no biological children but he loved and raised a few step-kids. He is survived by his two brothers, Jeff and Gene; two sisters, Tricia and Myra; two aunts, that were his mothers sisters; and lots of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three great friends who have always been there for him, Patti Laborda; and two who were friends since high school, Bobby Lewis Sr. and Christine Lewis.
DAVID LOVED ALL THREE OF THEM, AND THEY LOVED HIM.
