

Fisher Aubry Rainwater, beloved husband of Mary Jean Hale, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the age of 87. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease several years ago but remained resilient and continued to enjoy life surrounded by family.
Born March 19, 1938 in Ashdown, Arkansas to Ruth and Larkin Rainwater, Fisher is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeannie, and four sons, Vernon (Jennifer), Doug (Alicia), Gary (Kelly), and Marvin.
His grandchildren include Melanie (Justin) Willis, Brandon Rainwater (Brianna Brown), Isabel Rainwater, Rees Rainwater and great grandchildren Melissa Willis, Christian Willis with two more great grandchildren expected to arrive late summer 2025.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as a radio operator during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After returning from a tour in Germany, Fisher resumed civilian life to raise his family of active sons. He was instrumental in the creation of the East 80 Little Leagues where he loved coaching the Braves.
After several decades as a hard-working member of Iron Workers Local 591, Fisher retired and spent those early years fishing on Lake Bistineau, singing in the Koran Baptist Church choir, and practicing his golf game. An avid golfer, Fisher enjoyed during his lifetime not one, but two, holes in one. He was also a gold medalist in the Louisiana Senior Olympic Games.
A visitation for Fisher will be held Wednesday May 14, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Highway 80 East in Haughton, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m.
