Flordeliza Raneses, known affectionately to everyone as Flora, age 77, of Bossier, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy as vibrant and nourishing as the gardens she so lovingly tended.
A Life of Roots and Resilience - Born on March 29, 1949, in Anda, Pangasinan, Philippines, Flora was one of fifteen children. Growing up in such a large, spirited household shaped her into a woman of immense strength and unwavering devotion. She carried the values of her Filipino heritage and the bond of her family with her throughout her entire life.
A Culinary Heart - Flora turned her passion for feeding others into a distinguished career, serving for many years as a culinary chef in the casino industry. Her talent in the kitchen was legendary among her family, matched only by her green thumb. She found her greatest peace in her garden, planting vegetables and watching life bloom. She cherished the simple, quiet joys—none more so than a warm cup of coffee and the company of those she held dear.
An Infectious Spirit - To know Flora was to know her laugh. It was truly infectious—a sound that could fill a room and instantly lighten the hearts of everyone in it. She loved her family fiercely and lived her life with a joyful, resilient spirit that remained constant through every season.
Her Legacy - Flora’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her seven siblings; her six children; and her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All of them carry forward her strength, her recipes, and the echo of her laughter.
Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, 601 Hwy 80, in Haughton, LA on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Honoring Flora as pallbearers will be Matthew Anderson, Austin Lorich, Jordan Tingle, Terry Wayne Tingle III, Trey Houser, and Joseph Villard.
A Special Note of Gratitude - The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to Renee Bamberg, a CNA on the hospice floor at Christus Highland in Shreveport. Renee went far above and beyond the call of duty, providing Flora with a "spa day" and lovingly braiding her hair. These acts of tenderness and dignity provided immense comfort to both Flora and her family in her final days.
