He loved anything to do with the outdoors: bicycling, boating, even mowing. Mostly, Frank loved riding horses. He did so from childhood until the present. He loved his farm and home, Double Rainbow Farm where he worked from 1981-2021 and lived from 1995-2021. He had many friends there, both people and horses.
An avid supporter of Special Olympics since the early 1970's, both as an athlete and contributor, he medaled in track and field, soccer, and his favorite, Equestrian Competitions. For over 30 years, Frank and his family hauled horses and teams to Olympic Games in Natchitoches, Baton Rouge and Sulfur, making memories from the lighting of the torches to the closing ceremonies and eating at the best restaurants while dancing to Zydeco music.
Another integral part of Frank's life was boating all over the state from Lake Bistineau to the Gulf of Mexico. His very best boating was on the Amite River where he owned and operated his own fishing boat with surprising skill. His family camp on the river at Whitehall on Hwy 22 was one of the main joys in his fun-filled life.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. E.B. Robinson and his niece, Emilie Gabrielle North.
He is survived by his siblings, Sarah "Sig" Robinson, E. Bruce "Coach" Robinson, and Suzanne Robinson Brooks (Tony); nieces and nephews, Raegan North Comeaux (Stephen), Baylee St. John, Ryker St. John, Hayden Comeaux, Kenzie Comeaux; nephew Jon-Bayan North (Allison), Bayan and Emilie North and Cainen Duos, Holly Brooks Stuart, LaBrea Brooks, Chloe Wilson, and Kalista Stuart, Daniel Brooks (Laura); and his work buddy of 25 years, C. Gail Kenney, as well as all the residents and staff with Grace Group Home in Benton whom he considered family. Scott, Beth, Noah (Nola to Frank!) and Adalynn Smith were more than extended family for the last 10 years of his life. Former brother-in-law and lifetime friend, David North must be included in this list, as well as Dr. Eric LeBlanc, literal lifetime friend.
A celebration of life will be held for Frank Manning Robinson on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, 601 Hwy 80 in Haughton. The gathering of friends will begin at 3:00 pm, with the Celebration of Life to follow at 4:00 pm, with Dr. Rick Wolf of Fellowship Church Dubberly presiding, with Freda Tapp and Gretchen Going, providing music.
