

Glynda worked as a licensed practical nurse in the medical field until her retirement. Her caring nature was instinctive, shining through in all she did.
Throughout her life, Glynda carried an unmistakable appreciation for style and presentation, with a keen eye for fashion and a genuine enjoyment of nice clothes. She took particular pleasure in shopping—especially in the satisfaction of finding a good bargain—and she also loved to travel, embracing the change of scenery and the experiences that came with it.
Glynda is survived by her husband, Charles Henry Butler; her son, Billy D. Butler; grandson, Adam Scott Butler; her brother, Hubert Cecil Ward; her nieces, Tammy Renee Maloch, Pamela Sue Searing, and Jeri Diane; and her nephews, Wayne Ward, Chris Ward, Larry Roy Ward, and Mark Ward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olan Cecil Ward and Emmer Ayres Ward; son, Timothy “Scotty” Butler; and brothers, Lorris Marion Ward and Roy Ward.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Michael Naquin pastor of Belle Park Baptist Church will be officiating the ceremony. Interment will follow in the park. The family will be receiving friends for visitation beginning at 1:00 pm until service time.
