

SHREVEPORT, LA – Services for Jack M. Wheeler, 85, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Airline Drive Church of Christ with Ben Brewster officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the funeral home.
Jack was born on October 10, 1927 in Smackover, AR to John and Roberta Bell Wheeler. He stayed active in life with his many hobbies. He served in the U.S. Army, and then began a lifelong career with K.C.S. Railroad. He obtained his pilot’s license at the age of 40 and loved to fly his own plane. He liked to travel in his motorhome, enjoyed fishing, painting and spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of Airline Drive Church of Christ for over 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Judith Ann Collom, grandson Trey Collom, sister Betty Heiberg, brothers John Wheeler and Ray Wheeler.
Jack is survived by his wife of 64 years Annabelle Wheeler, son Kelly Wheeler and wife Sharon, granddaughters Sarah, Kellie and Hannah Wheeler, brothers Frank, David and Joe Wheeler and sister Mary Edmonds.
Pallbearers will be Mark Wheeler, Donald Woodruff, Kenneth Crain, Brad Edwards, Malcolm Edwards and Rodney Edwards.
