

Memorial services for Jim Gholson, 69, of Loma Rica, California will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 14, 2014 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with interment of his cremains in Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, Louisiana.
Jim was born May 20, 1945 in Vivian, LA to Drucilla Dot (Foster) and James Warren Gholson, Sr. and passed away at his home in Loma Rica, CA January 21, 2015 following a lengthy illness. He attended Vivian Junior High and North Caddo High School and worked several years as a Rough Neck in the Oil Fields. Jim then went to work for Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company in the pipeline department where he discovered his life long calling, welding. He was a certified welder in the Nuclear Power Plant industry during the seventies and early eighties and settled in California where he worked in the Plumber’s and Pipe Fitter’s Union. Upon his retirement he worked in the local union hall as an instructor in the apprentice program. Jim loved his work as an apprentice instructor, taking his boat to the river in quest of large salmon, and being in a duck blind with his friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Wayne Wilmoth, and brother-in-law Billy Brown. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Evelyn “Lynn” Riegel Gholson, daughters, Karin Renee’ Smith, Melissa Ann Carr, Darla Kay Harvey, and son, Jim Bob Pannell. His also survived by his sister, Linda Gholson Brown, brothers, M. E. “Sparky” Wilmoth and wife Joanne, and Charles Gholson and wife Brenda Petricko.
