Known by his close friends as “Sherb,” Jason was an avid lover of all things music. From supporting local bands to attending festivals around the country, he danced to his own beat. He loved travel, nature and fast cars. Racing was something that always interested him, as well as cars in general. There wasn’t a vehicle that crossed his path he couldn’t fix. Jason also loved delicious food and had a lifelong career around cooking. He judged no one, always found the good in people and was an absolutely incredible father. He was thoughtful and curious, and above all, loving.
Jason was born to Paula Jacqueline Rachels, and is survived by his wife Devin White Rachels, son Xander Holt Rachels, cousin Jackie Rachels, brother Stephen Langford, aunt Shelly White, nephews Liam, Ryan, Owen and Calvin White, and several cousins and extended family members.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Billy Rachels, Jewel “JP” and Eva Langford, and his aunt Debbie Green.
Jason’s life will be celebrated in a memorial service at 2 p.m. on September 12 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA.
