John and Johanna (Liefermann) Van Hess welcomed Julia Marie into this world on January 12, 1914 in the small town of Many, LA. She was baptized at St. John's Catholic Church, in Many, Louisiana. She met and married Waymon Neely, from Sarepta, Louisiana, on January 28, 1934. They had two children, in Many, Louisiana, Gwendell Anastasia and Bobby Gale Neely. Bobby died July 7, 1977. Her family moved to Sarepta, Louisiana, where the remainder of her children were born; Linda Marie Neely, Garlen Juanita and Gary Joe Neely. Gary is deceased. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and her grandchildren; Joey and Amelia April Neely, Andrea, James and Phillip Wallace. Also surviving are Julia Anne, Stephen Ray, Jason Keith, Gerald Joseph, Thomas Edward, John Francis, James David, and Geoffrey Paul Weimar. There are too many great grandchildren to list.
Julia Neely was a great, unselfish child of God who spent many years of her life caring for special needs family and friends. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Springhill, Louisiana. She lived out the last ten years, her best years, in the Heritage Nursing Home in Haynesville, Louisiana. The family would like to thank the Heritage staff, director Suzonne Loe, for the decade of great, nurturing care they gave her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her name to St. John Berchmans Church in Shreveport.
