Kenny Ray Cox, age 73, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was born on March 9, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Richard and Myrtis Howell Cox. Kenny was a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Kenny loved spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them rotten. He also took great pride in helping others and would always make you laugh with his silly jokes. Kenny was a very special kind of man with a huge heart of gold.
Kenny worked at Morris Dickson wholesale for about forty years and loved his time there. He loved his wonderful co-workers and considered them family. Kenny will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Kenny was preceded in passing by his parents; a brother, Kevin Cox; and a sister, Sue Bell.
Left to cherish Kenny's wonderful memories are his beloved wife, Sheri McGill Cox; four daughters: Tonia Mann and husband Billy, Amanda Loftis and husband Jonathan, Victoria Cox and fiancee Christopher Lewis, Amy Paul and husband Brian; six grandchildren: Michael Netherland, Kenneth Flores, Sophia Cox, Macie Lewis, Judge Marsh, Lilly Boyd; one great-granddaughter, Athena Netherland; six siblings: James Cox, Doug Cox, Steve Cox and wife Martha, Joanie Cox, Darla Mikle and husband Wayne, Alvin Cox and wife Donna; along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Savannah Grand and all of the wonderful employees that helped take care of Kenny while he was there. A special thank you to the Hospice nurses who took great care of Kenny during his final days with us for making everything so peaceful and comforting not only Kenny but our family all the way to him gaining his wings.
A visitation for Kenny will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM in he Chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Brian Opbroek officiating.
Honoring Kenny as pallbearers will be Billy Mann, Christopher Lewis, Jonathan Loftis, Steve Cox, James Cox, and Doug Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Netherland and Kenneth Flores.
Kenny will be laid to rest on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
