

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Funeral services to celebrate the life of LaMerle Elizabeth Drake Rogers, 96, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013, at The Pentecostals of Bossier City, 2833 Viking Dr., officiated by Pastor Jerry Dean. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. There will be a brief visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Rogers was born on January 24, 1917, in Logansport, LA and passed away late Wednesday evening, July 10, 2013. She was a lifelong resident of Bossier City, LA and spent her life as a homemaker, caring for and loving her family. Mrs. Rogers, along with her late husband, founded First United Pentecostal Church of Bossier City which later became The Pentecostals of Bossier City.
Mrs. Rogers is preceded in death by her husband, Manual Wilson Rogers, Sr.; parents, Harry Wilson Drake and Mamie (Peterson) Drake Wallace; three sisters and one brother. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Manual Wilson Rogers, Jr. and wife Mary, Forrest Earl Rogers and wife Dora, Thomas L. Rogers and wife Joyce, Wanda Lynell Bossier and husband Gary, Linda Louise Brandon and husband Tom, and Randy Gerald Rogers, Sr. and wife Barbara; fifteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring Mrs. Rogers as pallbearers are her grandsons, Tommy Brandon, Jr., Gerald Randy Rogers, Jr., Gary Paul Bossier, Jr., Lynn Rogers, David Rogers and Steve Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pentecostals of Bossier City or the charity of choice.
