July 2, 1942 – February 6, 2026
Linda Harvey Henry was born on July 2, 1942, in Texarkana, Texas, to Lorene and Carl Harvey. She often said that growing up in the 1950s was “the best time ever”—a period she remembered as relaxed, trusting, safe, and simple. She cherished those memories and carried them throughout her life, wishing the same sense of security for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her three sons, Russell Henry and wife Cindy of Bossier City, LA, Jason Henry and wife Theresa of Benton, LA and Michael Henry of Haughton, LA.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, Matthew Henry and wife Melanie (Seguin, TX), Kaylynn Craig and husband Quinton (Bossier City, LA), Taylor Strong and husband Nathan and Chance Henry and wife Kat; and her precious great grandchildren, Kayson Craig, Jane Henry, and Ben and JC Landgraff. She is also survived by her beloved brother—her “rock”—Carlos Harvey and wife Sue of Texarkana, TX; by Stephanie Arant, her “daughter of the heart”; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Linda treasured her lifelong friends LaCrecia Barry, Jane Dawson, and Carol Willige, all from Texarkana—friends who were truly the sisters of her heart.
Linda was greeted in Heaven by her husband of 52½ years, Max Henry, the love of her life—kind, thoughtful, and loyal—who passed away on June 15, 2017. Also waiting to welcome her were her parents; her Granny, Doris Henry; her brother and sister in law, Bev and JB Henry; her Aunt Sylvia; Punkin; her grandmother, Maude Strawn; many beloved friends and relatives; and a long list of cherished furbabies—Molly, Bully, Carmie, Bella, Cotton Kitty, and so many more—who undoubtedly met her at the Rainbow Bridge.
Linda spent countless happy hours on her back patio watching her “little friends,” the hummingbirds. She kept multiple feeders and delighted in the return of the hummers every spring. Among her most treasured memories was the visit of an albino hummingbird she named Miracle.
Though she did not pursue a college degree, Linda earned her education in the workforce. She held a wide variety of jobs throughout her life—sales, restaurant management, retail management, casino sales, and human resources. She loved working because it introduced her to new people and lifelong friends.
In retirement, Linda embraced hobbies including ceramics, painting, crafting Christmas decorations, and volunteering with Ninna’s Road to Rescue.
Linda lived a life filled with love, laughter, and deep faith. She asked that those who remember her do so in joy—cherish life, laugh often, love always, be kind, and seek to know God and His love.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ninna's Road To Rescue www.roadtorescuela.org where she found immense joy in helping animals find their forever homes. However, because Linda loved beautiful flowers and because her family has been in the flower business for many years—flowers are also welcome.
Services will be held to celebrate Linda's life on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
From Linda:
“May God bless and keep you until we meet again (no rush on this one) — and NEVER use God’s name in vain.”
