Linda graduated from Fair Park in Shreveport, LA. She met and married Scotty Teague, her husband of 54 years, at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA. He was first smitten with her as a beautiful girl he had spotted in the college lunch line, then became head over heels in love as they happened to get set up on a blind date. All who met them saw they were lifelong devoted sweethearts who loved doing everything together. She was so good, so true, so sweet. “Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou exceedeth them all.” Proverbs 31:29
Linda's life was a testament to her faith in God. Her love, encouragement and steadfast faith in God touched so many lives. She was never happier than when doing for others. Linda truly possessed gifts of service and hospitality. She loved being a preacher’s wife and greeted each new church congregation as family and created cozy, welcoming homes from Longview, TX to Bossier City, LA and from Long Island, NY to Chester, AR.
She adored her Scotty and was thrilled beyond measure to be a Mama to her two boys and her daughters-in-law. She didn’t think life could get any better until she held her four grandchildren. They were her everything! She got such joy in cooking, baking, canning, sewing and knitting for them and reveled in their hugs and their delight as they enjoyed all she did for them.
Linda and her sister, Shirley, were two peas in a pod, who shared the joys of raising families, giggling together all the way. She was like a sister to Barbara who adored and admired her. Linda and her family are blessed to have had so many lifelong friends and supporters through the ministry. Her passing is a great loss to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Scotty Teague of Chester, AR, two sons: Stephen Teague and his wife Katie, of Fayetteville, AR; Stewart Teague and his wife Sharon of Houston, TX; four grandchildren Matthew, Anna, Jenny Lou and Clementine; her sister Shirley Ray and husband Ronnie of Montgomery, TX and here sister-in-law Barbara Pace Jones and husband Homer of Bossier City, LA.
