Louis Glen Sims

Louis Glen Sims, age 64, was born on February 9, 1961, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away on December 16, 2025, in Minden, Louisiana. He was the beloved son of the late Louis Sims and Juanita Sims.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tamara Sims, and his cherished daughters, Crystal Wood and Jessica Beal. He was a proud grandfather to Jacob Wood, Emily Wood, and Ronda Beal, and a beloved father-in-law to JD Wood and Chris Beal. Louis is also survived by his siblings, Bonnie Yarbrough, Kay Clement, and Louis Sims Jr., as well as his mother-in-law, Catherine Poe, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Louis Sims, his sister Shirley Speyer, and his father-in-law, John David Poe.

A man of many accomplishments, Louis was an oil driller and business owner. His greatest achievement was his unwavering love for Jesus and his family. An avid hunter and fisherman, he had a deep reverence for God's creation and loved all things outdoors. Louis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, known for his ability to tell tall tales and make people laugh.

A graveside service will begin 10:00 am Friday, December 19, 2025 at Hill Crest Memorial Park, located at 601 Highway 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. The service will be officiated by Bro. Chris Plants.

Pallbearers will include Jacob Wood, Jakobe Delaney, Garrett Poe, Hunter Clement, Louis Sims III, Timothy Thompson Jr., and Will Aultman. Honorary pallbearers are Coleman Pratt, JD Wood, Chris Beal, Timothy Poe, Jack Clement Senior and Danny Cummings.
