Melva Rae Franklin

Services will be conducted for Melva R. Franklin, 74, at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Calvin Hubbard, Pastor of Barksdale Baptist Church, will be officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Hill Crest Funeral Home from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Melva was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Eugene Beall and Beatrice Pylant Beall of Crowville, LA.

She is survived by her High School sweetheart and husband of 56 years, George Edward Franklin; sons, Edward Eugene Franklin of Haughton, LA, Gregory Alan Franklin and wife Catherine and grandson, Jeremy of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends. Melva was a strong, supportive wife and mother who cherished her family. She will be missed by many, as she now makes her residence with her lord and savior in heaven.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Hammons, Leo Jones, John Jones, Dodwell Jones, Louis Bradford, and Robert Mahaffey.
