

A celebration of life service for Patrick will be held at the "Garden of Prayer," next to the Big cross at Central Assembly of God, Hwy 80 East on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Gravis officiating.
Patrick went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2025 following a sudden illness. He was born on August 15, 1969 at MacDill, AFB in Tampa, Florida.
Patrick was baptized at Emanuel Lutheran Church of Bossier City in 1975. Patrick was a graduate of Bossier High School, class of 1987 and proudly wore the #13 on the Bearkat football team and helped them advance to the playoffs his junior and senior years.
He served in the United States Army in 1988-1989. In March of 1990 he attended and completed a fourteen month program at Mid-America Teen Challenge in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Patrick was an avid animal lover and at one time had rescued twenty-seven cats. Patrick traveled many miles across the country with the late Denver Nelson and the present Brodie Nelson his companions that meant the world to him. He loved American history, he was a big Trump supporter. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger.
Patrick was preceded in passing by his grandparents: Dale and Dorthe Fuhr, Wilbur and Pauline Nelson, James and Dorthy Cooper, uncle Kevin and aunt Joan Fuhr, aunt Linda Shewey and uncle Bill, and Cheryl and son Robert Rives.
Left to cherish Patrick's wonderful memories are one son Colten Nelson, a daughter Haley Scally, his parents, Kathleen and Albert Rives, Wilbur and Sue Nelson, siblings: Michael Nelson, Kristan and Daniel Whiddon, uncle David and Sheri Nelson, uncle Dale and Ethel Fuhr, aunt Debbie Case, cousins: Deana Fuhr, Belinda Luke, Krista and Dan Burleson, Britney and Tamra Fuhr, Jennifer Cifonie, Keila Zinda, and nieces/nephews: Chase Nelson, Paten and Jack Sirman, AnnaMarie and Trace Hall, great niece Luna Nelson and great nephew Krue Carter Sirman, other family members: Anne Thirtyacre, Kelly Sewell, Joy Atherton, Scotty and Theresa Rives, Ryan and Tina Rives, fur babies Denver and Brodie Nelson, along with many wonderful friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Ochsner Health (LSU). A personal thanks to John Messier and Harlan Hughes for their support during the hours at the hospital and helping plan the memorial details. Thank you to Paten and AnnaMarie for all their help.
