Patsy Odell Strawn

Patsy Odell McLemore Strawn, 86, was born on December 1, 1937, in Minden, LA, to Oleta McLemore Mayes and Howard Creel McLemore, and passed away peacefully in Bossier City, LA, on February 8, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Patsy was a longtime resident of Haughton, LA, and a member of First Baptist Church of Haughton.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA, officiated by Dr. Gevan Spinney, pastor of First Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service. Burial will be at Hill Crest Memorial Park immediately following the service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 53 years, James (Jim) L Strawn; daughter, Patricia Lynn Thrash; son, Donald Glenn Herring; and one sister, Virginia O’Neal.

Survivors include her son, Thomas C. Strawn and wife Sharron of Bossier City, LA, and two daughters, Vicky Strawn and June Kose and husband Billy, all of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by her sister, Diann Schaub and husband Pete of Haughton, LA; brother, Earnest Mayes of Alto, TX; grandchildren, Jamie, Jeremy, Ali, Krystal and Tripp; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Drake, Garrett ,Colby, Dylan , Addie, Millie and one boy on the way, as well as great-great-grandchildren: Peyton and Grayson.

Patsy was a retired school bus driver, on bus 10, for the Bossier Parish School District, Haughton, LA. She loved her kids and they loved and respected her.

Pallbearers will be Pete Schaub, Patrick Schaub, Garrett and Dylan Towery, Tripp Keith, and Drake Anderson.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Colonial Oaks for their kind and loving care and to her wonderful physician, Dr. Ted Warren, whom she truly loved. A special thanks also to Bristol Hospice.
