Randy Dale Rufty, age 62, was born in Mooresville, NC. on April 25, 1958 to Franklin G. Rufty, Jr. and Cora Lee Rufty and passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 as the result of a tractor accident.
The funeral service will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the Hill Crest Memorial Mausoleum Chapel. Dr. Rick Wolfe of Haughton Riding Club Cowboy Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Randy was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 39 years, Nancy Rufty. He retired as Captain from the Bossier City Police Department after 33 years of dedicated service and was currently working at the Federal Court House in Shreveport, LA. He was an avid horseman who had a passion for barrel racing on his faithful companion, Frosty, and attended the National Chuck Wagon Races in Clinton, AR.
Randy is survived by his wife, Nancy Rufty; sisters, Leslie Riebesehl and husband Mark, Vicki Kennedy and husband Michael, Sandra Rufty, and Melissa Furlow and husband Travis; children, Robyn Ward and husband Kevin, Tracy Doss and husband William, Todd Masse and wife Amy, and Terri Stuckey and husband Ronnie; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Franklin G. Rufty, Jr. and his mother, Cora Lee Rufty.
Randy touched many lives and will be deeply missed. We have lost in body, a soul mate, husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and dear friend.
