Elm Grove, La. – Ruth was born in Salina, Kansas to Gerald and Florence Petit. Ruth Murphy, age 88, passed away to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 22, 2017. Ruth had been a resident at Cypress Point Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Ruth was a member of Memorial Baptist Chapel. She retired as an Office Manager for J.C. Penney’s. Her hobbies was reading, sewing and quilting. Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Miles H. Murphy, one son Charles Ray Murphy and Brother Larry D. Petit.
She is survived by one son, David Murphy and wife Linda, one daughter Cathy Hansen and husband Darrell, daughter-n-law Sue Murphy and sister-n-law Sharon Petit. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great grandchild and one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grave side service will be held at 10:00 Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Hill Crest Cemetery in Haughton. Officiating will be Rev. H. B. Fuller.
