

William Scott Taylor, 77, of Haughton, Louisiana, formerly of Taylor, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 15, 2025. Scott was born July 29, 1948, in Taylor, Pennsylvania to the late William and Helen Taylor.
Scott loved to travel not only for work but with his family, taking in all the sights across America. He retired as a truck driver, over-the-road hauling provided for his family for forty plus years. Scott loved to tinker with things, always fixing what had been broken, old cars, and woodworking. He taught Jennifer to change her oil and fix a flat if nothing else.
Scott served this grateful nation by enlisting with the United States Air Force, working as a firefighter during his enlistment period. He loved Jennifer’s chocolate chip cookies, so much so, he provided the bag of chips hinting for the goods. Scott enjoyed grilling, and spending quality time with his family. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Scott will be remembered for his quick witted jokes and his great sense of humor.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; four siblings: Nancy, Robert, Richard, and Laurie.
Left to cherish Scott’s wonderful memory will be his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Dianne Sermons Taylor; one son Jeff Taylor; one daughter Jennifer Varnado (Cary), two grandchildren: Katelyn Varnado, Tommy Varnado, three nieces: Janine Pomeroy (Nicolas), Jenny Margheriti, Georgette Dawson; two nephews: Bill Margheriti Matthew Bratlee; along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
There will be a celebration of life service for Scott on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in the chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana, 71037, with Reverend Raymond Moncrief officiating.
Memorials may be made in honor of Scott Taylor to a charity of donor’s choice.
