

Sharon Ann Tullis Smith, age 81, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Sharon was born on September 10, 1944, in Tyler, Texas to Elmer Newell Tullis and Glennis Willie Haralson.
One of Sharon’s fondest childhood memories was winning both a short story contest and the third-grade spelling bee. Even as a child, she knew she wanted to become a nurse or work in the medical field, a passion that guided her throughout her life.
During her civil service at Barksdale Air Force Base, Sharon submitted a suggestion that was implemented throughout the Air Force. She also worked with a JCAHO inspector, who adopted a checklist she developed for her credentials program in rural civilian hospitals. Sharon earned a second-grade promotion in recognition of her dedication and contributions and was honored with a Gold Star Award at Willis-Knighton for her outstanding work and commitment to excellence.
Sharon’s greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and beloved pets, all of whom brought endless smiles to her face. Her favorite colors were purple, blue, and yellow. Among her proudest family moments were the births of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was especially moved when her grandson Jonathan played “Taps” at his Pawpaw’s funeral and when her grandson Lane joined the Marines. Her favorite songs included “Welcome to My World” by Jim Reeves, “Sinner Saved by Grace” by The Cathedrals, and “Who Am I” by Elvis Presley
Sharon’s favorite pastimes and hobbies included flower arranging, craft projects, sewing, and cross-stitching. Above all, being a Mama and Granny brought her the greatest joy, and those moments with her family were among her most treasured.
Sharon is survived by her children, Tina Marie Smith, Pamela Renea Holt (Mark), Melissa Dawn Smith Anderson, and Bob L. Martin; grandchildren, Savannah Holt Stewart (Markus), Morgan Holt Parr (Jeremy), Shelby Holt Wilson (Antonio), Lane Holt (Karalyn), Jonathan Holt, Joel Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Joshua Anderson; great grandchildren Allison Stewart, Samuel Stewart, Connor Stewart, Landon Parr, Bennett Parr, Carson Parr, Jared Holt, Aubri Holt, Raylon Holt, Avery Wilson, Alexis Wilson, and Antonio Wilson Jr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Broadus Joel Smith; parents Elmer Newell Tullis and Eddie Lee Glover Yates Tullis and Glennis Willie Haralson Tullis Taylor and Carl Taylor; sibling, Donald Eugene Tullis; beloved pet, Gracie.
Services for Sharon will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Hill Crest Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80 E., Haughton, Louisiana 71037. The family will receive friends at 12:00
PM until service time.
