“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 8:38–39
Shelia Sue Maleby Lovell, 73, of Bossier City, LA entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on January 23, 2026 surrounded by her devoted family and friends.
Shelia was born on June 28, 1952 in Vivian, LA to William and Lorene Maleby. The family later moved to Shreveport, LA where she met the love of her life, Gary Len Lovell. The two were married on January 18, 1974. They welcomed son, Bradley Len Lovell, in 1980. Shelia loved her family and friends well, never met a stranger, and was always the life of the party. She loved sewing, crafts, baking, shopping, writing poetry, singing and dancing. The absolute joy of her life was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Most importantly, Shelia was a Christian who loved the Lord and is now in her Heavenly home. The family takes much comfort in knowing she’s finally resting in her Savior’s presence.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gary Lovell; her son, Bradley Lovell (Rebecca) of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Payton and Jayce Lovell; sisters Teddie Guess Jones Bellot of Baton Rouge, LA, Beverly Maleby of Shreveport, LA, Sharee Maleby Howe (Bill) of Greenwood, LA, and brother William Wayne Maleby (Paula) of Cadiz, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lorene, daughter Jennifer Raelyn Lovell, and sister Delores Allen.
The family wishes to thank all those who made her final days comfortable with visits, cards, calls, texts, and above all, prayers.
A memorial service celebrating Shelia’s life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 601 US Highway 80 East in Haughton, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Charles Marceaux.
