Shirley was an LPN for over 30 years and was currently employed with Heritage Manor of Bossier. She loved her patients and they loved her.
Shirley's life revolved around her family, work and her 3 beloved Chihuahuas, Kodiak, Moose, and Moses. She loved sneaking off to the casino with her sister, Kay, and calling Glen, Bonnie and Junior 100 times a day just to see wha they were doing. In fact she loved to let everyone know she was the oldest and she was the boss. Shirley also loved to write. She had a collection of children’s stories she had written and would read them to her nieces and nephews.
Shirley loved everyone with her whole heart and to know her was to love her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Juanita Sims and infant daughters, Laura and Heather. She is survived by her sisters, Kay Clement and husband Jack, Bonnie Yarbrough and John Evans; brothers, Glen Sims and wife Tamara, and Louis Sims Jr. and wife Melissa; numerous nieces and nephews and her 3 Chihuahuas, Kodiak, Moose and Moses.
Services for Shirley will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Tim Godin. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Friday evening, July 31st, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
