Visitation for retired MSgt. Steven Dale Fidler, 73, of Princeton, LA will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm with memorial services immediately following. Brother Scott O’Rear will officiate.
Steven, or Steve as he was fondly known, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was born on December 17, 1949, in Indianapolis, IN, to parents Richard and Jane Fidler.
Steven met and married the love of his life, Paula Kay Hack, on March 1, 1980. Together they built a life of love with their children. One of Steven’s greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted and doting Papaw and recently promoted to great grandfather.
A Vietnam veteran, Steven proudly served his country for 38 years, first with the US Navy followed by the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserves and civilian service. He retired from the 917th MXS Propulsion Shop in 2009. Through his service he made lifelong friendships that became family, namely the Watson family (John, Christa, Kristen, Kollin, and Karter).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rick Fidler and Bruce Fidler.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Paula Fidler; his daughters, Ashley Vining and husband Mark, Amber Fidler, Stefanie King and husband Chris; his son, Jamison Fidler and wife Vera; daughter, Theresa Fidler; step-son, Edward Pratt and wife Amanda; sister, Denise Heins; brother, Chris Fidler; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Steven is also survived by a host of friends and neighbors. All will miss him dearly.
