

Ronald Chodosh M.D., 76 of Mount Kisco, New York, on September 26th. Beloved husband of Florence; devoted father of Hope Killcoyne, Adam Chodosh, M.D., and Seth Chodosh; dear father-in-law of Stephen Killcoyne, Charlotte Chodosh, and Nurine Chodosh; adored grandfather of Lucas, Jack, Sydney, Sarah, Lillybelle, Aaron, and Leila; loving brother of Bernard Chodosh. He is also survived by a large circle of family and friends who took joy in his company and were inspired by his exemplary life; these family members include nieces, a nephew, sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law. Dr. Chodosh was a doctor’s doctor, an outstanding pulmonologist and internist and gifted diagnostician who was devoted to the care of his patients and to the art and science of the practice of medicine. After studying medicine in Basel, Switzerland, and then going on to work as Chief Resident in Brooklyn, New York at Maimonides Hospital Center, he moved north. In Sleepy Hollow, New York, he served with distinction at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center for 41 years in various capacities including several years as Chairman of the Department of Medicine. He also contributed his wisdom and expertise [for many years as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. Ronnie was a man of true generosity of spirit, imbued with goodness and an unselfish dedication to the well-being of others. His keen intellectual curiosity sparked his irrepressible love of discovery and exploration. His interests were legion, defying easy characterization, ranging from the analytical to the experiential—from scientific advancements to the culinary traditions of Eastern Europe. Among his legacies are the young physicians who seek to emulate his high ideals and sterling professional ethics. Those who had the privilege to know Dr. Chodosh can recount how his rare qualities of head, heart, and character were instrumental to their lives. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 30th at 12 noon at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 21 West Broad Street, Mount Vernon, New York. Donations in his memory may be made directly to Phelps Hospice at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, New York.
