David Cone was my Dad's brother and my Uncle. He will be greatly missed... Loving memories in my heart I will carry with me forever... Kathleen saharon Cone-Nagy, Raymond, Michelle, Kimberly, Shannon and Ron 11...Sorry for your loss Aunt Marge!

Dave and Marge were involved in my life as my family was also part of Peace Lutheran in Hayward in the very early years of it's existence.  Dave hosted the church kids at the Jolly Fisherman for many outings and was such a loving man of God.  As my son, now a kindergarten has told me, "you don't have to be sad when someone dies, living with God is so much better" but certainly praying for comfort for his family during this time.

Fifteen years ago,which doesn't seem like a lot of time when you get older we had a stroke of luck to purchase a cabin in the northwoods at a place called Jolly  fisherman resort.We were met by a great couple, Dave and Marge Cone.We learned that they were the founders of the resort and the history which for those who don't know I would like to share.I may not have all the details exact,but as I came to know them from many days sitting buy the lake with Dave and Marge,and from the other owners now of the Jollyfisherman Condo,association.As a young man Dave wore many hats and held numerous jobs,but as the stars in the heavens alligned he had become a truck driver,with his new bride Marge a burning vision started to come into focus to leave the city and have piece of land in gods country and the search began. Somehow Dave came across a small lake in the north woods called Nelson, he scouted around till he found a perfect location on the northshore of great level flat land surrounded by virgin woods,and the serenity of nature.With true pioneering spirit he was able to purchase the land,and the vision began to blossom. Many years of clearing land of brush and trees,putting in gas lines,electric lines and septics,he came across the cabins in Milwaukee, they were the goverment temporary housing for returning Korean War vets.Dave and Marge now with a family purchased these units which Dave disassembled 
led,put on his flat bed truck hauled to his land over many weeks and months,reasembled the units on Nelson lake.Years went by on this journey and by hard work,sleepless nights,and a herculian effort Jollyfisherman resort began to unfold. In those days Nelson lake was a premire wallaye lake and a five year waiting list for a cabin rentals was the norm.For many years Dave and Marge enjoyed the fruits of there efforts as successful resort owners which generations of clients enjoyed countless vacations,and then many of the same people became owners.My wife Barbara and I and now my daughters and granchildren wish to thank Dave and Marge for there warmness,insight,and kindness for the many years we enjoyed with them.Now as president of the Jolly fisherman Condo,association we the currant and past owners of cabins 2-8 Tom&Diana,Ryan Jeske/and the Mccoys,Mark & Barbara,Randy&Debbie,Leroy&Carol,Rose&John,Leann&Bob,Brad & Angela and all the families thank you Dave and Marge. We will allways remmember you.We also find it fitting that Dave passed away at home with family,looking out over the lake,and the piece of paradise he had carved out of the north woods. We stayed at Jolly Fisherman for many years. Dave was always so kind and helpful. Dave took us out fishing and we realized we were nothing but students and he was the master.  It was always a pleasure staying there with Dave and Marg.  We will miss seeing him on out trips to Hayward.

Will miss his smiling face!!! Even as health declined, he was always so JOLLY!! (<:  I guess it's easy to be jolly when you know that someday soon, you'll get to join your Lord and Savior. I'll see you at the funeral. So sorry for your loss ...
