Harry Peter Moeller was born October 15, 1926 in Downers Grove, IL the son of Peter and Johanna (Schumacher) Moeller. In his youth Harry moved to Hayward, WI with his parents and attended the Kinnamon School. In his teens Harry started working construction with his father until he graduated from Hayward High School and joined the U.S. Army. Harry served in Japan and Korea during WWII, receiving the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan). Harry was honorably discharged and returned to Hayward and continued to work with his father in residential construction. After his father’s retirement Harry continued to operate the construction business as Moeller Construction. On January 14th, 1989 Harry was joined in marriage to Krystin Sundstrom in Hayward. Throughout his life, Harry had a passion for woodworking. He loved his yearly fishing trips with his family and friends to Canada as well as his fall hunting. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Hayward and an active member of the Lions and Shriners.
Harry is survived by his wife, Krys; two daughters, Gale (Joseph) Grudzinski of Milwaukee, WI; Lisa (Richard) Roque of Longmeadow, MA; six grandchildren; Jackie, Bob, Chantell, Madeline, Emilie and Luke; six great grandchildren; one brother, Ray (Marty) Moeller of Hayward, WI; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph; uncle, John Moeller and step son, Mike.
A funeral service celebrating Harry’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18th, at First Lutheran Church in Hayward with Pastor Scott Ludford officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Anderson-Nathan-Koerpel Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Interment will be at a later time in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
