Cathy was born on December 27, 1960 at Zaragoza Air Force Base in Spain. She was the daughter of Alton J. (Jack) Hendrick and the late Margaret O. Hendrick. On January 3, 1981 Cathy and Brian were married at Redhill Lutheran Church in Tustin, California.
Cathy worked her way up in the banking industry, beginning her career filing checks at the Bank of Irvine. Cathy worked with a passion that led her to the Bank of Hemet in 1994, where she worked as Vice President/Controller until she was promoted to Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer in 2001. Cathy was an integral part of the Bank family for over 22 years, and one of those rare leaders who won the respect, loyalty and love of those who worked with her, as well as vendors, auditors and colleagues.
When she wasn't working, Cathy and Brian were known to travel the world, and as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, enjoyed visiting DAR sites while traveling within the US. As a lover of exploring new places and cultures, Cathy developed an eye for beauty and a love of fine art as well as beauty found in nature. Often while traveling they would find a piece of art for their home, or an idea for her garden. When not traveling, Cathy and Brian spent their time together creating a home that reflected both his craftsmanship and her good taste.
Cathy will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a cause that was near and dear to Cathy's heart: secondary education for young people, primarily young ladies, who are pursuing degrees. The Community Foundation, located at 3700 6th Street, #200, Riverside CA 92501 has set up a fund. Please make your checks out to The Community Foundation and in the memo section indicate Bank of Hemet Fund, Cathy Frei.
