After not hearing from Chuck after sending a Christmas card year end 2018, my heart knew and that loss remains with me as I loved him dearly. I first met him when he worked fro the Dept. of Rehabilitation in Fullerton. My life was on the rebound and someone told me about a man that could help me and I also could get some free stuff like clothing, etc. The person that told me about Chuck couldn't stop talking about him because Chuck had (I didn't know then but know now) struck a chord in this man spiritually that rattled him to his core.

So I call Chuck and he made an exception to see me because I didn't yet qualify time- wise for services with the Dept. of Rehab. So off I go with the sole intention of seeing what I "can get for free". I get to the office and ask for Charles Carr and he appears and greets me, and as he's closing the door to his office he says to me "God told me to talk to you today" and I think to myself 'what have I gotten myself into, all I wanted was some free clothes'. It's hard to put into words what next transpired, but for the next 3 hours Chuck & I both laughed and cried tears of joy! I was a broken man coming out of dark wilderness back into the sunlight of the spirit and Chuck was there to greet me with open arms and that beaming smile of his that glowed! 

He called me the "Eaglet" as I was learning to fly again. I'm 7 years younger but he was like a father. You'll be very fortunate if when you die you've filled a hand with friends. My hand isn't full but one of my fingers is named Chuck Carr.

To the family of Charles, I am terribly sorry for your loss. I personally know that it is never easy to lose a loved one. Please except my condolences and take comfort in the following scripture. At Acts 24:15 it says "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Isn't that a wonderful thought that someday we will be able to see our loved ones again. I know that this cannot bring back your loved one but i hope that this brought you some comfort.
