Cheryl Estella Johnson

Cheryl Estella Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, companion and friend was born on Monday, May 10, 1954 in Los Angeles, California. She was the daughter of the late Jimmy Lee Burks and Ella L. Hogan.

Cheryl was full of fun, joy and life. Being a "free spirit" she always did what made her happy. Caring for others was one of Cheryl's passions; she had a true heart of gold. Spending time with her family was a must, at family gatherings she would always bring out the dominoes so they could play a game or two. The beach was one of Cheryl's favorite places to visit, that and gardening brought her much peace.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2014, surrounded by her loving family Cheryl went home to be with the Lord in Perris, California. She will forever be remembered for the joy and love she shared with others.

Proceeding her in death is her father Jimmy Burks; companion, Andrew Henry Jones Jr. and grand-daughter Tamia Moore Hardiman.

To cherish her memory are her daughters, Trenell Latrice Lewis, Kelela Lorane Jones and Taliya Charmane Jones; six grandchildren, Tybryan Miller, Kevin Lewis, Arianna Lewis, Ta-Keira Lewis, Zaylen Johnson and Sir Anthony Hardiman; mother, Ella L. Hogan, brothers, James Burks , John Burks, Jerome Burks and Jeffrey Burks; sister, Cynthia Burks; companion, Lee Holder as well as numerous other family members and friends.
